此盃青花繪畫巧妙，難能可貴。鬪彩瓷多以青花描繪紋飾之輪廓細線，後於框線中填彩，然匠人於此盃上以青花疊畫，繪出濃淡肌理，並增添立體感，如盃上鳥軀所現。如此簡單而雅致的裝飾風格，反映出雍正帝的品味。

自宋伊始，花鳥題材常見於瓷上圖紋，但如現例喜鵲空中飛翔，驟降報佳訊，則並不常見。可比較上海博物館藏一盌，其上描繪之燕子轉首朝下，類同此盃，刊錄於《中國陶瓷全集》，卷14（上），上海，1999年，圖版191。亦可比較相類雍正花鳥圖，如香港蘇富比1992年4月28日售出一盌，編號215；另一對盌售於紐約蘇富比1991年11月26日，編號357。亦可參考 H.M. Knight 珍藏一盃，尺寸較大，繪鳥倨岩石，售於香港佳士得2011年6月1日，編號3587。
