本品構思，頗有意境。夜來靈兔臥草間，舉目凝月，如痴醉；所望處，一縷輕雲，悄然飄渺，半遮月。犀盃雕工細膩，層次對比鮮明。盃身平滑光潤，浮雕臥兔、蒼松，神態質感極佳，刻顯月夜幽寧，實乃佳作。本品曾為仇焱之舊藏，先生評注，「雕工蒼老，完整無傷，雕工畫意稀少」。

犀盃以兔為題者，存世甚罕，未見極近之品。可參考一相類例，尺寸略小，雕動物紋，Hartman Rare Art 收藏，售於紐約蘇富比1985年6月5日，編號130；另一例曾售於倫敦佳士得1979年4月2日，編號24。

中秋夜，一輪明月，瓊樓玉兔靜相守，伴嫦娥，夜夜桂樹旁，遙遙仙杵聲，一株仙靈，不朽永生。靈兔凝月則孕，本品亦作婚賀慶禮，喜祝子孫長宜。
