The overall condition is very good, with the exception of a flake of approx. 1.2 cm to the unglazed body of the foot and a few areas of enamel pulls. Apart from some minor wear and surface scratches, the enamels and gilt decoration have been well preserved.

此器上精湛的裝飾手法顯示了工匠高超的工藝水平。器腹先施胭脂紅釉，再用細針拔劃出細的卷草紋為錦地，稱軋道，宮廷稱錦上添花。軋道工藝始創於乾隆早期，是督陶官唐英和工匠借鑒瓷胎畫琺瑯的手法研製出的新品種。北京故宮博物院藏一件胭脂紅軋道梅瓶，見《故宮珍藏：康雍乾瓷器圖錄》，香港，1989年，頁361，圖42。一件尺寸稍大、紋飾略異的迎手藏北京故宮博物院，同前，註圖48。

迎手是床榻上的輔助物件，又稱手枕，多以錦緞作，瓷質不為多見。《紅樓夢》第八十三回有一段曰：「紫鵑便向帳中扶出黛玉的一隻手來，擱在迎手上」，迎手還有診脈之用。
