The overall condition is very good with the exception of a minor nick to one of the seal faces. The stones are a tinge darker than the catalogue illustration.

此組印璽之美，唯有親手賞玩方可完整感受：石色鮮亮飽和，在單純雋永的長方柱形襯托下，微微透出石紋肌理，而其石面柔潤的觸感，及紮實沉穩之量感，更是玩賞之樂。歷史上，田黃乃中國藝術裏最珍貴的材料之一，比起尺寸大小，其重量更是評鑑價值之要點。

田黃石採自福建省壽山一帶，向來被視為可媲美宮廷御用之最高等級的美玉。其吉祥寓意更可見於其名稱與產地：「黃」音同於「皇」，壽山之「壽」象徵高壽，福建之「福」意喩多福；而田黃也因此隱喻祝賀帝王長壽萬福之意。據說清代皇帝祭天時，祭壇上皆會供奉一塊田黃石。

使用田黃石刻印可溯自十七世紀之篆刻名家文彭，曾向皇帝進呈一方田黃印璽。北京故宮博物院藏有數方形制類同之田黃印，其中一方刊載於《故宮博物院藏文物珍品全集．璽印》，香港，2008年，圖版427；台北故宮博物院亦同，其珍藏之三方田黃印錄於，《印象深刻：院藏璽印展》，台北，2007年，頁90。
