此類釉裏紅剪影樣式，繪動物、魚紋輪廓，配釉下青花作飾，始於明初永樂一朝。時至宣德，風格演變，如此剪影樣式僅施釉裏紅彩。明初釉裏紅魚紋器，多為高足盌或高足盃。參考一瓷片盃例，上繪釉裏紅魚紋，類例甚罕，出土於景德鎮明代窰廠遺址宣德時期地層，曾展於《景德鎮珠山明宣德官窰瓷器》，鴻禧美術館，台北，1998年，編號101-2。

明宣德後，鮮有燒製釉裏紅器，直至清代方始復興。相近本品造型、署雍正年款之釉裏紅器，可見於各大博物館及私人典藏；其中一例現藏台北故宮博物院，曾展於《明成化瓷器特展》，1977年，編號100；南京博物院亦有一例，曾展於《清瓷萃珍：清代康雍乾官窰瓷器》，香港中文大學文物館，香港，1995年，編號49；再有一例，現藏於倫敦維多利亞與艾伯特博物館，載錄於柯玫瑰，《Chinese Ceramics. Porcelain of the Qing Dynasty 1644-1911》，倫敦，1998年，圖版11。另見玫茵堂藏例，售於香港蘇富比2012年10月9日，編號50。此外尚可參考一例，造型相若，口沿較敞，現藏於清江縣博物館，江西省，見於《中國陶瓷全集》，上海，2000年，卷14，圖版162。
