This rare vase is in good overall condition with the exception of some re-touching to small flaked areas localised to a 4 x 2cm., section on one side of the body and a 6 x 1cm., section of the shoulder, a T-shaped hairline surface hairline around the shoulder, minor chips and nibbles around the footring, and minor firing imperfections and scratches.

本品紋飾風格自由，甚具畫意，實屬吉州窰珍品佳作。現今江西省古稱吉州，吉州窰則位處江西省永和鎮，鄰近吉安。部份吉州窰瓷器，塑形修坯較為粗糙，多帶琥珀色斑紋，或飾軋道錦地，唯本瓶瓶身精工細繪，罩施纖薄透明釉，亮澤雅緻。

參見一較大梅瓶例，飾相近水波紋，出自Eugene and Helen Bernat收藏，1980年11月7日曾售於紐約蘇富比，編號119；另一例圖見《世界陶磁全集》，卷13，東京，1981年，彩圖288，現藏Buffalo Museum of Natural Science。另有數吉州長頸瓶例，紋飾相近，包括一對例，出自江西省南昌市遺址，圖見《文物》，1975年，卷3，圖版5，編號5；尚有一例，1990年6月12日售於倫敦蘇富比，編號179。

廣東省佛山瀾石墓出土一吉州窰褐彩梅瓶例，繪開光人物圖，環飾水波紋，現藏於廣東省博物館，載於《中國陶瓷全集》，卷8，上海，1999年，圖版220。
