Each bowl with a very faint crack which has been sympathetically cleaned and restored and is now only visible under UV light. The first, a hairline visible only to the interior and measuring approximately 25mm; the second approximately 20mm visible to the interior and faintly to the exterior. Otherwise the bowls in excellent overall condition with only a light 4mm horizontal scratch to the lower body of one.

驟觀造型顏色，本品看似簡單，實則技巧要求極高，於各門中唯屬最難。此類單色釉瓷器，塑形、施釉及窰燒火候均須一絲不苟，各道工序無數，但見瑕疵，前工盡棄。各單色釉瓷器之中，唯獨黃釉與宮廷有直接聯繫。御製黃釉瓷器，早於明代已有燒製，唯只限祭祀儀式所用；檸檬黃釉瓷則可供宮廷各場合運用。黃釉含氧化亞銻酸，雍正年間，瓷匠利用亞銻酸鐵與氧化錫，研製燒成不透明之檸檬黃彩，呈色鮮明亮黃。

相近盌例成對，出自Eli Lilly伉儷收藏，售於紐約蘇富比1993年6月3日，編號 334；另一例曾展於鴻禧美術館，《中華文物集粹：清翫雅集收藏展II》，台北，1998年，編號44，售於倫敦蘇富比1997年11月4日，編號1375。另可參考兩例，分售於倫敦蘇富比1997年11月5日，編號 1375，以及香港佳士得2009年11月27日，編號 1715。亦可比較一對較小盌例，現藏於Museum of Far Eastern Antiquities，斯德哥爾摩，圖錄於Jan Wirgin，《Chinese Ceramics from the Axel and Nora Lundgren Bequest》，斯德哥爾摩，1978年，圖版58b，編號78；仇焱之曾收藏一對近例，售於倫敦蘇富比1980年11月25日，編號 101。

W. F. van Heukelom與荷屬東印度群島通商致富，珍藏無數中國瓷器，屬當時荷蘭最珍貴典藏。珍瓷收藏寶蓄於其大宅，位處阿姆斯特丹博物館廣場，建築師為Johan Adam Pool （1872-1948年），部份藏品曾展於《Tentoonstelling Aziatische Kunst》，Stedelijk Museum，阿姆斯特丹，1936年。藏家1937年離世後，其遺囑執行人委託蘇富比拍賣收藏，1937年6月16及17日假倫敦蘇富比舉行專場拍賣《Catalogue of the Well-Known Collection of Fine Chinese Porcelain of the Highest Quality 》。當中臻品包括五彩三星紋盤，由日本山中商會購入，現藏於倫敦大英博物館大衛德基金收藏，圖見Stacey Pierson，《Percival David Foundation of Chinese Art: A Guide to the Collection》，倫敦大學，倫敦，2002年，封面及圖版87。本品出自上述收藏，乃少數未呈獻於上述拍賣會之遺珍，後人承傳收藏至今。
