comprising twenty black and white plates produced by Jardin de Flore, printed on Vélin de Rives paper, each after Giuseppe Castiglione originals created between 1783 and 1786, portraying the edifices, gardens and palace grounds of the Yuanming yuan constructed between 1737 to 1766, including the north elevation of the Haiyan Tang (Hall of the Calm Sea) and the main façade of the Fangwai Guan (The 'Belvedere' Palace), inscribed with the name of the palace and location and the numerical sequence in Chinese characters, later yellow board portfolio
Condition
Each in excellent overall condition, with the exception of no. 13, which has a small 10mm tear to the lower edge of the paper. Each with very minor superficial dirt to the paper. No. 2 and 20 each with slightly blurred elements of the printing.

1783-1786年間，郎世寧奉乾隆帝欽命，率數傳教士畫師設計圓明園西洋樓，載錄於二十幅著名《長春園水法圖》銅刻版畫。銅刻版畫由耶穌會華人學生鐫刻，本品乃水墨紙本，印製精良，甚為珍貴。
乾隆年間，圓明園佔地八百英畝，建有御所宮殿、圓明五園等。劉怡瑋論述，圓明園之設計，象徵天地宇宙，乃中國山河之微觀，秀麗庭園繞皇帝宮殿而建，仿擬全國各地及海外勝景。園林湖泊與平原山丘環繞四周，帝后起居宮殿前方為朝政大殿，後為御花園。作者並述，圓明園乃由清宮樣房設計，繪圖與模型兩者皆有運用。本品或為樣房繪製，以歐洲洛可可風格建築為模，載於劉怡瑋，，《Splendors of China's Forbidden City》，芝加哥，2004年，頁35。
此組銅刻版畫於1786年上奉乾隆帝，細繪圓明園西洋樓及周圍之亭台樓閣，製於樓閣竣工後二十年，乃最重要而精細之圓明園歐式建築紀錄。弘曆御令製作版畫，足證其對建築甚感滿意。版畫原稿，一例曾展於《Splendors of a Flourishing Age: Paintings and Antiques of Kangxi, Yongzheng and Qianlong Reigns from the Forbidden City》，澳門藝術博物館，2000年，編號37；另有五例，圖見Cecile et Michel Beurdeley，《Castiglione, Peintre Jesuite a la Cour de Chine》，弗里堡，1971年，頁 66、67、69、70及71。
本組版畫仿照宣紙原稿製作，尺寸與銅刻版畫相同。現知未經摺疊之銅刻僅存三例，本品即複製自其一，故無摺痕，更臻完美，製作精細，珍罕難得。
