of oval form supported on four claw and ball feet, the crenallated rim above a pair of lion mask and ring handles, enamelled on each side with a knarled tree growing from rocks and bearing fruit and flowers, the rim bordered with various flowering plants and edged in cell pattern with carp swimming around the interior rim above large fish shown amidst waterweeds and other aquatic creatures

This monteith has restoration to on foot, which has been damaged and restored. This and the foot behind it have had some infilling at the join. There is also a 3cm by 1cm semi circular area of restoration to one area of the rim and two cracks through the upper a lower section of one handle, with some infilling to the upper section where it meets the body. There is some wear to the enamels to the interior and some iron spots and burst bubbles. There is some rubbing to the gilding to the exterior rim and some minor yellow enamel loss to the horizontal bands to the exterior. There is one area (1.5cm by 1.5cm) of inconsistency to the firing to the lower left of one side, where this section of body protrudes.
