明嘉靖 金襴手「仕女」執壺連木蓋

intricately modelled in the form of a lady dancing with her left knee raised, her left arm lowered forming the handle and the right arm lifted forming the spout, wearing long robes elaborately decorated in iron-red, turquoise, yellow and green enamels with a mythical beast panel to her chest and outer skirt, her sleeves and underskirt with scrolling clouds and floral tassels, her face pencilled with underglaze-blue features and tied-up hair, later wood cover imitating a high chignon

This rare ewer is in good condition with the exception of a 3cm., hairline rim crack to the top of the head, repair to a break encircling the top of the right hand, loss to the tip of the left shoe and a small chip to the tip of the spout, minor enamel flakes and light scratches and rubbing.
