the baluster body flanked by a pair of archaistic kui dragons at the lower waist, rising to a quatrelobed neck flaring at the rim, the body brightly painted with two shaped cartouches enclosing a European gentleman, all reserved on a pale blue stippled ground with meandering floral scrolls, the interior enamelled turquoise, the white base enamelled with a six-character seal mark in blue

Old restoration and over-painting visible to much of the neck of the vase, and to an area to the shoulder approximately 75mm wide. The over-painting has discoloured slightly and would benefit from sympathetic restoration. Otherwise in good condition, with the exception of an area of chips to the enamel at the foot measuring approximately 20mm.
