This incense burner is in good condition, but there are slight nicks to the extremeties to the lower parts of the handles where they come into contact with the rings. There are some minor scratches to the rim and interior of the censer.

清朝藝匠作器以翡翠材質最為珍稀。1784年，中國與缅甸關係轉趨明朗始有隱定的翡翠來源，並馬上受到宮廷青睞。翡翠以其半透明度見稱，拋光後晶瑩如水。此材質地細膩，反射光線外且能吸光，華滋半透。由於翡翠較其他軟玉堅硬，玉匠更能運用精工細雕，將玉材天然色澤發揮出來，達至渾然天成之境。

有一相關作例，器身淺浮雕饕餮紋，爐蓋較高，曾售於紐約佳士得2012年3月22/23日，編號1850。相類作例紋飾略異，見倫敦蘇富比2011年11月9日，編號336及337兩例，二者均飾獸耳活環，雕獅形蓋鈕。
