carved in the round with the God of Longevity seated on pierced rockwork with a pine tree and two bats in flight behind and a deer on his right, his right arm raised holding a staff and his left hand rested on the shoulder of a boy standing before him, the boy holding a peach with both hands, the stone of a pale celadon-white tone

The carving is in good condition with the exception of a shallow 1.5cm., wide shallow chip to the base of the boys feet and robe. It should be noted that the stone is of a slightly darker celadon tone than the catalogue illustration would suggest.
