- stoneware,silver cover and wood box
the compressed globular body divided into lobes, rising from three feet to a waisted neck with everted rim, flanked by a pair of rope-twist handles, the exterior freely carved with undulating floral scrolls below a keyfret band, covered overall in a sea-green glaze, pierced silver cover and Japanese wood box
Condition
The censer is in good condition with the exception of some tiny glaze flakes to the bottom edge of the legs. It should be noted that the glaze is of a slightly warmer celadon tone than the catalogue illustration would suggest.
