- gilt bronze
cast seated in dhyanasana on a double lotus base before a mandorla, the right hand extended in varadamudra and the left in dhyanamudra, wearing a shawl draped over the left shoulder revealing the bare chest, the face with a meditative expression, the hair gathered in tight curls surmounted by a domed ushnisha
Condition
The left arm had been broken and repaired. The mandorla is broken/cracked in various places including the top and the two sids. There are extensive casting flaws, particularly to the front left side and the reverse of the lotus base. Different layers of the base may have been reinforced before, with traces of glue to the rims. There are extensive dents, chips, other casting flaws, scratches and rubbing to the gilding.
