comprising of two interlocking sections, the top deftly carved in high relief with a ferocious dragon coiled around its body and clutching a flaming pearl in its claws, writhing amongst swirling clouds on a bed of tumultuous waves, all encircled by a lappet band, the underside with fastening tabs
Condition
The belt buckle has chips along the edges, the largest measuring 0.5x0.4cm. Minor nicks to the extremities. There are cracks across the surface of the ivory, as consistent with age. The actual colour is of a slightly warmer tone compared to the catalogue illustration.
