of archaistic bronze form, the pear-shaped body rising from a gently spreading foot to a waisted neck, applied with two dragon handles, painted in bright enamels with blossoming peony to one side and bamboo to the other, the neck with landscape scenes

Condition

The side illustrated in the catalogue image with a large L-shaped body crack, measuring approximately 160mm, extending from the middle of the neck to the top of the peony. A large 18 by 17mm chip to the foot to the reverse. Faint glaze lines to each handle; other minor firing imperfections elsewhere. Minor flaking to the enamels and two very small frits to the mouth rim.
