each with a single panel top secured in a rounded projecting frame carved with fine ridges along the edges, supported on four round posts at each corner forming the tapered silhouette, the pair of well-figured doors with wooden dowels fitting into sockets in the upper frame and lower front rail each side of a central removable post, mounted in the centre with three conjoined baitong plates, pulls and pin and opening to two shelves of huanghuali, all sides and rear of each cabined constructed from a well-figured single panel, save for one cabinet's side and one door of the other which are formed of two conjoined planks, all above a plain narrow apron with curved spandrels, the wood richly patinated to a warm reddish-brown colour

The pair of cabinets are in good condition. There is some slight shrinkage of the door panels. Each central stile has a filled mortise along one side.
