世謂雲林畫，江南士大夫家以有無為清俗。余以為著筆不在煩簡重輕，要在脫去煙火氣，此非知者不足與道也。
丙子初冬。徵白許昭並識於箕潁廬鐙下。

鈐印：「徵白詩畫」、「不煩先生」。

-Restoration could be seen on the painting, where there appears to be paper cracks. The upper and lower section of the paper appears to be slightly greyish due to age. Otherwise, generally in fair condition.

註：許昭自學成家，臨古功力深湛，上至宋元，下迄明清，山水、花鳥、人物無一不擅。有謂其追摹前人，神貌逼肖，足可亂真，著力於仿古，本款之作，遂少見矣。

本幅取意雲林，筆墨疏簡，得其蕭索寡淡之韵致，惟化小為大，篇幅逾八尺之鉅，構圖複雜則過之，但無堆砌臃腫之弊，山水間隔，仍具空靈曠遠之妙。造化奇功，可見不拘泥於古而生己法。
