上款：「西崑」即楊西崑（1912-2001），江蘇奉賢人。北京大學英語系畢業，曾任教於西南聯大，後轉入外交界，任國民政府駐聯合國常任代表之助理，處理在聯合國託管理事會工作，後返國出任外交部亞西司長，復升遷至外交部政務次長，由於一直主導對非洲外交業務，並以特使身分訪非，與非洲各國政壇關係熟稔，故有「非洲先生」之譽。

註：本幅乃畫家寫贈時任外交部常務次長之楊西崑。兩年後，楊氏亦得張大千另幅潑墨山水，同樣寫於巴西，乃張群轉贈。
