何梅生，閩布衣，高尚不出，適命其第五子敦仁來謁，欲師余山水，以其名何敦仁也，遂畫河蹲人。心畬。

註：何敦仁（1910-1981）者，乃福州同光體詩人何振岱第五子。三十年代，隨父入京求學，投心畬先生門下，集山水畫。四九年後，任福州畫院畫師，中國美術家協會福建分會理事。

本幅畫中見河裡蹲人，實取「何敦仁」諧音而貌之，若非明示於題跋，觀者當誤為〈太平廣記〉或志怪小說中之異人奇行。此等「怪力亂神」者，偶現溥氏筆下，不無志不能伸，委以曲筆之意。

本幅則以門人為對象，隨手拈來，揮灑自如，倒是流露畫家幽默詼諧的真性情。
