註：畫家對創作自我要求甚高。作品完成後，多釘於牆上，反覆細看，或添加，或修改，滿意後方題款，故現存作品中偶見修補痕迹。本幅之葦間飛雁，經畫家挖掉，再行補上，此與另幅〈紫藤小鳥〉，以色覆蓋畫面之枝頭小鳥，補寫於畫面不同位置，皆如出一轍。
