Condition
-A small area of the silk is restored at the fourth scroll. Abrasion could be found in certain areas of the painting, where the colours appears to be slightly lighter. Otherwise, generally in good condition.

註：本副四屏的花鳥題材組合，無論是單幅或配合成堂屏，在劉奎齡筆下常有重複。他雖為職業畫師，按求畫者所索而製，但重複者，非刻板地再現，在背景或細節上，多有修飾改動，故對構圖運用嫻熟，風格自成。
畫中禽鳥，如鸚鵡、飛雁、鴙雞、白鶴，各以不同背景為襯。其構圖嚴謹，襯景豐富細緻，但無損主體對象之描劃，舖排合理自然，有綠葉牡丹相襯之效。本副寫於畫家創作成熟之年，無論質感、距離、輕重以至光暗對比之處理，莫不清晰呈現。雖云取法郎世寧，惟對中西技法之調合以筆墨施於細絹上，師承、模仿幾已消弭無跡，直是個人鮮明面貌之具體表現。
