註:上世紀二十年代,大千先生多次往遊東瀛,行旅中創作不輟,留下畫迹甚豐,本幅題「客居大阪」,考同月「己巳七月」,其足跡踏遍關東關西,既有不忍池觀荷,復見大阪炎夏中逭暑,本幅即畫上鴻爪之一。

「雲林洗桐」屢見於歷代畫迹上,先生偶亦為之,本幅或最早見其筆下者。畫幅裁紙窄長,構圖遂因材而施,梧桐禿身矗立,葉聚於頂,益顯挺拔高聳之姿。倪迂負手靠樹,僮僕執巾,隨侍於後,主僕二人體型刻意拉長,明顯異於畫家一貫處理人物之手法。雲林開臉亦非大千自畫像之面貌,五官輪廓僅約略狀之,用筆極簡,頗近石濤、張風之筆墨,此亦畫家早年人物畫創作演變歷程之一例。

畫中無鈐名章,僅具室號及壓角閒章各一方,此亦其作品中鮮見,足堪一記。
