註：豐子愷甚好魯迅作品，三十年代曾據其小說〈阿Ｑ正傳〉繪製漫畫出版，極為暢銷。一九四九年，他再從魯迅作品中「選了八篇，逐篇繪圖」共一百四十幅，大部份取自〈吶喊〉，〈風波〉亦包括在內，由上海萬葉書店印行〈繪畫魯迅小說〉。

〈風波〉以「張勳復辟」為背景，描寫農村諸色人等因「辮子去留」而弄出的風波，豐氏為此篇繪十六幀插圖。本幅之趙七爺乃村中的「學問家」，正直斥抱著兒子的寡婦八一嫂。描繪與書中插圖之一相近，僅把背景及傍觀者省略，似是據原圖而重繪。取相同題材再三繪製，乃常見於豐氏作品中。
