註:大千先生成名甚早,初以擅畫水仙,享「張水仙」美譽,復以石濤筆墨畫風獲時人賞。如本幅題跋所示,「松盦老兄」於一九三二年已「知予最早,得予畫亦最多」,恐怕是其早期的支持最力者,惜未考其生平耳!
松盦既獨無大千筆下寫意仕女,遂綜合唐寅、吳偉兩家法寫此以呈。是時,大千仕女已擺脫初習改七薌、費曉樓之畫風,上窺明人,以其性格靈活變通,不受覊絆,毋拘於一家法,既取六如娟秀規整一路,兼容小仙灑脫放逸之風格,正是文武相濟,貫通融匯,自成面貌。
畫中所見仕女,臉容端莊,神情温婉,雙唇緊合,眼瞼微微下垂,目光落於虛處,似若有所思,一手覆於胸前,一手曲垂其下,體態神情,雖非纖弱,卻流露內歛含蓄之個性。如斯處理,類近六如筆下之閨秀,惟衣紋描劃趨縱放,運筆提頓含勁,綫條爽利,尤以濃墨粗筆補綴長披垂腰之束帶,粗獷醒目處,亟見汲取明代浙派畫風,正是吳小仙面貌影響之痕迹,無論吳門、浙派,畫家在作品中調和融鑄,一爐共冶。事實上,相類調合之仕女畫一直延續到三十年代晚期,隨運用純熟而越加精鍊。待西陟敦煌後,筆下仕女又提升至另一境界了!
