此幅缶翁六十五歲所作也。高逸絕塵，跳脫逕蹊，氣味在復堂、悲盦之間矣。後十二年庚申孟春觀於平安之無悶室並識。長尾甲。（匣內）
款識：
折梅風雪灑衣裳，茶熟憑誰火侯商；
莫怪頻年詩孏作，冷清清地不勝忙。
戊申新秋。吳俊卿。

註：畫上題詩錄於〈缶廬別存〉，尚附跋語曰「雪中拗寒梅一枝，煮苦茗賞之，茗以陶壺煮，不變味。予舊藏一壺，制甚古，無款識，或謂金沙寺僧所作也。」蓋知乃即景製圖，故鮮見於缶老作品中。
畫中構圖簡約，取疏寡冷峻之意趣。壺身施淡綠，傍置杯子則敷粉，不類一般的留白處理，在他筆下別具一格。
又附原裝木盒， 盒蓋另面具日本著名漢學家長尾甲雨山題跋。一九〇三年受聘於商務印書館，因仰慕昌碩藝事，在友人引薦下欲拜門求師，缶老謙辭，彼此關係在師友間。一九一四年，長尾甲返國，缶老寫墨梅及山水送贈，並賦詩作別。本幅題於一九二〇年，是年正
昌碩書畫首展於日本長崎，作品極受彼邦藝好者賞，故倩畫家好友題識為紀，由此可証本幅於是時已歸東瀛收藏。
