finely moulded and reticulated as bamboo shoots aligned in a circular fashion, entangled with a prunus tree and a pine, forming the 'Three Friends of Winter', the knotty branches of the pine piercing through and extending around the rim, the bamboo nodes partly concealed by large clusters of leaves dispersed across both the interior and the exterior, covered overall save for the base with a bright turquoise glaze

The rim of the brushpot has been restored. There is a chip revealing the white body on the side of the brushpot to the left of the gnarled prunus branch.
