琉球嵌螺鈿漆器

古國之琉球，轄琉球諸島，含奄美、沖繩及先島群島。十五世紀初，第一尚氏建國於此，1470年第二尚氏繼位，1609年島津氏攻進琉球，掀開幕府時代。自1879年起，琉球之稱謂不再復用，始稱沖繩縣。琉球王國位處東亞貿易樞紐，北望日本，西鄰中、朝，南近東南亞各國。其借地利之便，通商四方，多受中國影響，兼納百家文化。

琉球漆藝，自十五世紀末至十六世紀初漸興。據史料載，其嵌螺鈿、戧金、箔繪及彩繪漆器曾大量出口中國。眾藝之中，嵌螺鈿為琉球漆器主流。且於十六世紀後半葉特設官作，名曰「Kaizuri Bugyo」，一批精美多樣之螺鈿漆器孕育而生。正因如此，今人方能知其風格，感其藝精。如見本場黑漆嵌螺鈿錦地家紋六方器座（拍品913）。同見褐漆嵌螺鈿加金片「松鼠葡萄」圖長方蓋盒（拍品910）。此盒蓋沿作波浪狀，甚為奇巧，罕有類者，可比一近似作例，藏浦添市美術館（圖1）。
