描述
standing with hands in abhaya mudra, gestures of reassurance and bestowal of charity, his serene face with a meditative expression, his hair neatly tied into a top knot above his long pendulous earlobes, wearing a full length flowing robe draped elegantly from the shoulders and falling in long undulous folds with a concentric 'U'-shaped pattern at his chest, standing barefoot on an oval lotus pedestal with beaded edges
Condition
The figure and the stand were cast separately. There is an opening of approx. 1.3 cm between the legs (visible in the catalogue illustration). There are some original casting flaws, expected dents, oxidation, as well as minor wear to the gilding . The unsealed stand also has a couple of cracks; the longer one covering a section of approx. 5 cm of the rim has been stabilised.
