of cylindrical form and resting on a three-footed concave base, carved and reticulated around the exterior with a group of scholars seated around a desk with an opened scroll, another seated beneath a tree with a musical instrument, a further scholar crossing a bridge with a young boy hiding behind him, the landscape arboured with large pine trees below swirling clouds and rocky cliffs, the bamboo patinated to a warm reddish-brown colour

There are a couple of chips to the reticulated branches of the pine trees, as well as one to the bamboo. The extremities, especially the mouthrim, also have some expected nicks. There are also occasional age cracks and stains.
