清康熙 織錦加官封冕聖旨 「康熙二十三年九月二十四日」字 《制誥之寶》印

mounted on paper, written in gilt and ink on a woven silk brocade, the edict, an imperial promotion conferred upon an official, the text arranged in standard form reading from right to left in kaishu (regular script) and repeated in Manchu script reading from left to right, with the imperial seal reading Zhigao zhi bao (‘Seal of Edict’) and dated to the 23rd year of the Kangxi Reign, corresponding to 1684

There are typical foxing and stains to the edict and some tears to the edges (especially around the stave and the title slip) but the edict is otherwise in overall quite good condition. The central inscribed section may have applied with a protective film on the surface. The document has been remounted to be unrolled from left to right. The original brocade wrapping is now placed to the left end and adjusted with the original title slip. The frontispiece is at the right end. The scroll ends, cord and fastener are missing.
