carved in the form of a flattened recumbent mythical beast, its head raised in an alert posture, carved in low relief on both sides with a profile view of the beast, its mouth opened revealing sharp fangs and its long upturned tail extending along its scaly back, the smoothly polished stone of an even celadon-white colour, later set with a gold mount for suspension

The plaque is in overall very good condition with no apparent nicks. There is only a small pitted area at the lower edge. The actual colour is slightly more tinged with celadon than the catalogue illustration.
