the slender brush finely carved in high relief through layers of rich cinnabar lacquer with a flowering spray of prunus issuing from jagged rocks against the floral diaper ground, detailed with a long-tailed bird perched on one branch towards the flat end, all between borders of key-fret and a floral 'cash' diaper at the tip of the handle and atop the cap, the brush end picked out with stiff leaves, the cap similarly carved with a long-tailed bird flying among prunus between borders of key-fret

There is a 3.5 cm age crack to the cap on one side and minor expected retouching to the lacquer at the tip-ends, but overall the brush is in good original condition.
