Central plaque with a 'qilin' and two deers: There is a shallow chip to the bottom right corner on the reverse, approx. 1.3 cm, and a small bruise approx. 5 mm above on the edge. There are light nicks in front and tool marks on the back but overall the plaque is in good condition. The back is unpolished. Pine tree plaque with 'qilin' and deer (left on catalogue): The plaque is in good overall condition. There are a few minor nicks/nibbles on the front frame or to the reticulation, probably original to the carving. There is a small bruise/calcified inclusion to the bottom right corner on the unpolished reverse, together with visible tool marks. There is a small section of a metal string attached to the reticulation on the reverse. Pine tree plaque with 'qilin' and deer (right on catalogue): The plaque is in overall good condition. There are a few very minor nicks/nibbles to the reticulation, to the legs of the the deer or in front of the 'qilin', or on the frame, likely to be original to the carving. Some original tool marks visible on the reverse which is left unpolished. All three plaques are of a slightly warmer tone with a greenish tinge compared to the catalogue illustration.
