with shallow rounded sides rising from a tapered foot to an everted rim, covered overall with green glaze and finely enameled in inky tones of black with swaying sprays of bamboo, the interior further inscribed in red enamel jing zhi zhong zhen jie gu gao lie shi xin and signed with a red seal, the rim dressed in a brown enamel, the base left white and inscribed in underglaze blue with a six-character seal mark

There is a 1 by 0.5 cm patch of wear to the black-enameled bamboo foliage on the left of the dish towards 9 o'clock (visible on the catalogue illustration), there is further rubbing in area to the black enamel (tip of the lower right bamboo foliage, leaf hanging on the left of the red inscription). There are some firing imperfections to the white base, including pin-prick air bubbles or stained iron spots. Otherwise the dish is in good condition.
