each potted with deep rounded sides rising from a short everted rim, the smaller bowl freely covered overall save for the base with splashes of a green, yellow and brown glaze, the larger bowl similarly glazed with an addition of white splashes; together with a 'Samson' famille-verte hexagonal vase and cover, the exterior decorated with court ladies and floral motifs

The flared sancai bowl has a 6cm hairline crack to the rim. There are scratches and wear to the surface glaze on both the interior and the exterior of the bowl. There is a 2cm restored crack to the rim of the larger bowl, together with some wear on the interior and further wear and scratches on the surface glaze. The actual colour is somewhat warmer and more contrasted than the catalogue illustration. The Samson famille-verte vase and cover are in overall good condition. There is one 4 by 3 mm loss of enamel to one of the hexagonal sides. There is also typical rubbing and minute imperfections in the glaze.
