carved in the form an archaistic mythical beast resting on its haunch, its head raised and mouth opened revealing its teeth, its beard, fur and tail detailed with fine incisions, it muscular body articulated by well-pronounced ridges running along the spine and chest, an aperture pierced through its mouth, the stone of brownish-beige colour finely mottled with russet specks

The jade is in overall very good condition without any apparent nicks. The actual colour is slightly darker than the catalogue illustration.
