of rounded trapezoidal form, carved in low relief on one side with a male Buddhist lion grasping a diapered ball (xiu qiu) with his paws while looking backwards at a female Buddhist lion, their bushy eyebrows and curly manes detailed with fine incisions, the reverse carved in low relief with the back and haunches of the male lion, the smoothly polished stone of pale celadon-white colour, later set with embellished gold mounts for suspension

Condition

The plaque is in overall very good condition with only some occasional minute nibbles to the extremities. The actual colour is consistent with the catalogue illustration.
