of rounded rectangular section, carved in low relief on one side with a recessed circular panel depicting a lady holding a large leaf-fan and looking at a cat standing foursquare on a balcony wall, the reverse incised with a three-column poetic inscription in running script signed Zigang (apocryphal) and surmounted by a pierced crest formed of two confronting archaistic dragons, the smoothly polished stone of even white colour
Condition
The plaque is generally in good condition with expected light pitting and minor wear to the surface consistent with age. The actual colour is slightly warmer and less grey compared to the catalogue illustration.
