描述

  • Porcelain
dressed in foreign attire wearing a soft cap and holding a scroll, the elephant standing four square turning its head to the right, its trunk curling under its chin, applied overall with an unctuous cream-white glaze

Condition

There is a restoration to the left hand of the figure holding the scroll and the left tusk of the elephant. There is a firing crack under the front right leg extending into a hairline in the glaze above. There are a few expected minor specks to the surface glaze. Otherwise the Blanc-de-Chine figure is in good condition. The actual colour is less pink, more cream white compared to the catalogue illustration.
