standing side by side, one holding a flower attached to a fly whisk, the other a spray of lotus extending over her shoulder, the translucent stone of rich amber red-colour streaked with a white vein carefully incorporated in the design, fitted with a metal peg, stand missing

There are a few nicks to the edges of the petals of the lotus blossom on the reverse, some minor age pitting or nibbles in areas, but overall the carving is in good condition. There is a metal peg inset at the bottom on the figural group to originally fit into a stand (now missing). The carving is very fine and the actual colour somewhat warmer and deeper compared to the illustration in the catalogue.
