each finely cast with a pear-shaped body supported on a splayed foot, sweeping up to a waisted neck and flanged rim, set with two elephant head-handles, naturalistically detailed with broad ears and a looping trunk suspending a loose ring, inscribed to one side of the rim with a horizontal six-character seal mark within a recessed panel
Condition
The surface has been cleaned giving to the vases a golden patina as visible on the photo. There is some expected light surface pitting or occasional minute dents but overall the two vases are in good condition.

本品原型，可參考一宣德鎏金銅瓶例，藏青海省博物館，署年款，鐫藏文。據當地石碑記，此瓶於宣德二年，由明廷賜予瞿昙寺，詳見〈Xuande Bronzes. A Legend Re-examined〉，《Arts of Asia》，2014年11-12月，頁92，圖4。
此瓶一對，屬一類乾隆禮祭之器，取明時原型，改雲耳為雙象耳。參考一相類例，售紐約佳士得2014年9月18-19日，編號1075。
