the footed cup incised with leaves around the sides, the stand similarly decorated with leaves skirting the central platform knob, both applied with a black glaze pooling in the recesses and falling short of the foot revealing a pale buff-coloured ware partly fired to orange

There are some expected imperfections in the glaze and scattered pin-prick air bubbles, a couple of firing cracks to the underside of the stand, but otherwise both cup and cupstand appear to be in good condition. The actual colour is consistent with the catalogue illustration.
