each of deep 'U'-shape, painted around the exterior in shades of iron red on the white ground with five bats interspersed among foliate scrolls forming strapwork panels, interlinked by ruyi and surmounted by a peach, all below a garland of pendant pearls and double lines encircling the rim, the base inscribed in underglaze blue with a six-character seal mark

There are a couple of minute burst air bubble to the rim of one, together with a few pinholes on the interior. The other bowl is also in good condition with a few specks on the rim and minor imperfections in the glaze on the interior including pin-prick air bubbles or pale iron spots. The actual tone of red is brighter and more contrasted and the glaze is less yellow when compared to the illustration in the catalogue.
