standing in an elegant sway holding an infant in her arms, dressed in long flowing robes hemmed with incised clouds, her gentle face set in a benevolent expression, her hair tied up in a high chignon and stained black, the stone of pale beige colour mottled with dark red streaks further accented with cloud incisions, set on a later added rock crystal base

Condition
The overall condition is good and the carving of fine quality. There are some nicks or nibbling to the edges of the garment, predominantly along the lower edge of the robe and to the feet of the figure. The figure has been mounted on an old rock crystal base as showing on the catalogue illustration. The actual colour is a little lighter and less red compared to the catalogue illustration.
