of cylindrical form resting on a footring resembling a node of bamboo, carved in high relief around the exterior with Shoulao and his companion deer, beside an attendant holding a stone chime, all below five fluttering bats, applied with a mottled mustard-yellow glaze, the base incised with a six-character seal mark
Condition
The brushpot is overall in good condition. There is a minute nick to the glaze, some wear to the upper rim and slight discolouration along the edge. There are some ink stains on the interior.
