of deep 'U'-shape with a tapered foot and short everted rim, painted around the exterior in shades of grey with leafy banches of chrysanthemum against a thick yellow-enameled ground, inscribed in iron red near the rim with the Daya Zhai mark surrounded by two confronting dragons within an oval panel reserved in white, the interior partly glazed white, the pierced base left unglazed revealing a pale buff-coloured ware

Condition
There are some typical firing impurities in the glaze, including iron spots and specks around the rim and scattered pin-prick air bubbles on the white glazed section on the interior. There is a 0.5 cm shallow chip to the exterior of the rim. Otherwise the jardiniere is in overall good condition.
