清道光 紅釉盌一對 《大清道光年製》款

each potted with deep rounded sides rising from a slightly tapered foot to an everted rim, applied around the exterior with a deep crimson-red glaze thinning to white at the rim and pooling to a darker tone towards the foot, the interior and the base left white, the latter inscribed in underglaze blue with a six-character seal mark

There is a small unburst air bubble to the exterior of one and a a 4 cm. surface scratch in the glaze near the rim of the other. Otherwise the two bowls are in good overall condition, with expected minor firing flaws including pale iron spots or pinholes to the interiors. The actual colour is close, is not somewhat warmer compared to the catalogue illustration.
