now converted into a snuff bottle, modelled recumbent its head resting on its back, its wing feathers picked out in low relief with archaistic details, its web feet neatly tucked beneath, the smoothly polished stone of rich yellowish-green colour mottled with patches of russet skin, later hollowed and set with an amethyst bead stopper

The pebble is in good overall condition. There is some surface pitting in areas consistent with the type and age.
